Lake LBJ Skiff Trip

Originally known as Lake Granite Shoals and renamed in 1965 to honor President Lyndon B. Johnson, Lake LBJ blends rich Hill Country history with outstanding fishing. These waters were a favorite backdrop for boating, skiing, and gatherings at President Johnson’s nearby ranch, and today they offer a dynamic fly fishing experience by skiff. From docks and retaining walls to grass beds and offshore rock piles, the lake holds trophy largemouth bass along with white bass, crappie, catfish, carp, gar, and abundant sunfish. This trip delivers variety, mobility, and classic Texas scenery on one of the Hill Country’s most iconic lakes.
